If you love creativity, art and inspiration, you’ll feel right at home here. I hope to inspire you by teaching you how to create your own art and “out of the box” projects.
I am not an expert by any means, but I love to create and I am still on my journey to become the best artist I can be. I look back at my first cards and I have come so far. I would love to have you join me on my journey and share yours with me.
I have had a passion for art of all kinds (painting, water coloring, coloring (all mediums), scrapbooking and card making since I was a small child. I started scrapbooking with my sister-in-law in 2005 and card making in 2010, see my first blog (thepassionatestamper.blogspot.com).
In 2011, after falling in love with the TJ Newsletter, which was a technique based newsletter, I set out to become a designer. I was relatively new to card making but I loved creating background techniques. I joined their team in 2012 as a guest designer and then as a design team member in early 2013. I loved the encouragement and the comradery of crafters that I got on that team. I have taken several coloring classes (copics, water coloring and drawing) from the most talented women in the crafting world.
I took some time off to take full-time care of my husband’s grandmother in late 2015. Sadly, she passed in April, 2016. It was then that I started water coloring paintings using Art Impressions stamps. I know this because as I learned from my other coloring classes that the only way to see your progress (judge yourself against yourself, not others) is to keep a watercolor journal. My first projects were not great by any means. (Maybe I will be brave and show you my first water color work).
I met Kendra Krebs at a convention in my town and was in awe at her talent. I took a class later that year with her (after practicing consistently since our first meeting and creating my Instagram account) and she was so encouraging and fantastic. She became my idol.
I started this blog in 2017 after quitting my job and looking for inspiration for the next chapter in my life. I read a kindle book (the crossroads of should and must) on my way to see my cousin and was inspired. I began researching how to start a blog as a business. I decided I wanted to join the Art Impressions design team and set my sites on making that happen. In August 2017, I was invited to join their Guest Design Team for their watercolor line. I was beyond excited.
I have always had a passion for training (in all of my corporate jobs) and I decided that I could do that for my art. I would be able to reach a lot more people if I joined YouTube, so I did. I created a YouTube Channel and uploaded my first video in July, 2017. I was so nervous. As I began additional filming and learned how to edit (still learning) I feel like my videos get better and better. I am a computer programmer by trade and I love learning new software programs (no matter how challenging).
I continue to watch videos, read and try to be a better entrepreneur. So, I would love for you to join me in my journey and I would love to hear your story.
When I am not crafting in my craft room, I am out with my friends, family or husband. I love to snowmobile, camp, kyack and go to the beach. I have a love-hate relationship with exercise but try to get to the gym at least twice a week. I split my time between NH and northern VT. I have a grown son who keeps me on my toes.
So enough from me, I want to know you! Connect with me on Instagram and say HI, I would love to become crafting buddies.
